An Anderson Weekend

We were blessed with a very special Anderson weekend; with just about every single member in attendance!  We started out the weekend 'right' by spending a little time along Lake Superior, ahhhhh. We tossed rocks into the great lake in practically the same location we did on our first date over 16 years ago :)

Pretty certain it was a hit!

And we were joined by this sweet young couple.  Paige & Luke are set to be married next July!
Little play time with Auntie Kara is always good, even in your jammies (Bryndel!).

Hadley & Piper were treated to a fishing adventure with Uncle Kraig, Sydney, & Ava.

The Anderson Family ~ 27 of 30!  Just missing Frank, Nathan & Tara.
12 grandkids, 2 spouses, 1 fiancee, and of course 1 great granddaughter :) WOW!
And the actual reason for the gathering - Anne's parents were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary!  Congratulations!

Made sure to get some farm time in before heading home on Sunday. This is Ava & Sydney's very tame calf, Olaf!

Piper has really warmed to most of the animals :)

Bryndel, not so much just yet.  But we'll keep working on her.

What a beautiful weekend with beautiful people.  Love you, Andersons!

Blessed Day

I played 'hooky' yesterday, and spent the day with Mom & Dad. It was just what I needed, and it was just so special to have them to myself,  ha! Mom & I took a starlit swim Wednesday night before bed. Saturday morning we all three took a beautiful 10 mile bike ride together,  and finished out the day with some weeding in the garden, and some relaxing on the porch.  A day that I'm going to treasure in my heart for a long time ♡

We tried out their new juicer and drank some serious greens! It was surprisingly refreshing!
Special thanks to my friend Cyndy, who so sweetly watched the girls while I was away; and to my Bible study sistas who keep providing me with delicious frozen meals for situations just like this.  God is so good.

Emma

We were blessed with a very special Father's Day yesterday.  We got to spend it with Kyle's nephew, Brent, his lovely wife, Cali, and their 3 month old daughter, Emma all the way down from Alaska!  The girls were thrilled to say the least, to have a whole day with baby Emma :)
We took in a local tour, visited a little zoo, ate wood fired pizzas out, and finished the day with a walk through our land.
Impressive selfie at the land :)

Isn't she sweet!  The girls were saddened to see her leave this morning, but are looking forward to more Emma time this weekend!  Thanks for the special visit, little Anderson Family!

Strawberry Sunshine

We spent a beautiful morning out picking strawberries in the sunshine!
No one will even notice me dipping into Mom's bowl.
Mmmmm. That was so good, no one will notice if I sneak another!
What?  Who me?  This is my first one!
Piper & Kyle picked and picked and picked together!
Hadley preferred to pick all by herself (likely sampling a few berries along the way, ha!).
What a harvest!  Strawberries in the sunshine with your sister.  Doesn't get much better.

Washington Dilly Bar

We spent a special weekend at the lake with Grandma & Grandpa.  Their address is Washington Boulevard, but sweet little Kenzie has taken to calling it Washington Dilly Bar due to Grandma's affection for keeping her freezer stocked for grandchildren, ha!  Grandpa was a trooper, and started chemo Friday afternoon.  He had no ill effects or adverse reactions during chemo, Praise God!  And he came home to these little sweeties...
Can you tell how excited Cylas was that he got the last remaining cherry dilly bar?!

Love my dad.
While Piper & Grandpa worked on trimming the roses, Hadley & Kenzie decorated Grandma's sidewalk.
And Bryndel & Cy found a puddle :)

Time to hit the pool on Saturday afternoon.
Bryndel got brave and jumped in over and over and over again.
And Piper learned to go under water to retrieve coins off the bottom!!!

Little stroll in her pajamas to cap off the perfect Saturday.

As of Sunday, Grandpa has been feeling the yucky side effects of chemo.  We continue to put his body in God's hands, and know that with God ALL things are possible!  Thanks for the really special weekend at the lake.  We'll be back soon for more hugs.
