Door County 2020

We spent a beautiful week in Door County  for our annual summer family vacation! Our resort had a perfect little clear & warm beach that we took advantage of every single day!

We hiked in 3 more State Parks! Pennisula, Newport, and Whitefish Dunes.

We got in some fishing as well. The only real success we had was off a pier on Lake Michigan as the sun set one evening. The girls caught little mottled (slimy!) sculpin.

We ate out almost every night, most of time enjoying the plentiful outdoor dining options! We even took in a fish boil on the 4th of July!

We met up with the Wiekers one night too!

Having never been to Door County as a family, we did quite a bit of just sightseeing as well. Thanks to the current times, we were asked to mask up in several locations, which made for great photos, ha!
Hardy Galleries, Red Putter mini golf (not pictured),
Al Johnson's (goats on the roof) Swedish breakfast,

and lots of fun shops in Fish Creek & Sister Bay.
We took the ferry out to Washington Island, and had such a great day exploring!!

And last, but definitely not least, Kyle to the rescue! When we arrived the first evening to our cute little resort cabin, we discovered it did not have AC and the upstairs bedroom was likely 90 degrees!! He was up early the next morning, and back a couple hours later with his well sought after prize... a window AC unit. He preceded to very carefully and skillfully jimmy-rig it in the crank out window. Within a day, we were cooled down, and ever SO thankful.

June 2020

We started June with a little fishing.

Followed by lots of popsicles & sprinklers (sometimes even with a friend!).
We got in two more State Parks, bringing our total to seven so far. Amincon Falls with Grandma A & Auntie Kara,

And Devils Lake on a perfect 70 degree Saturday in June.
We popped in on Oma & Opa and safely colored our love in chalk while distanced from them.
And even gave Great Grandma Joan some hugs at the annual Graham Family vacation weekend!
We celebrated Grandma & Glenn's engagement!
And got in some precious cousin time.
All 10!

We finished out the month with a day at Wazee Lake.
And, I would be remiss not to mention the weird appearance of HUNDREDS of tiny toads at the end of the month. At the peak of their hopping migration, you could have likely found 700+ toads in our yard!!!
