Sunshiney Weekend

The girls had a special treat this weekend... Auntie Kara came for a visit!  And she even managed to bring the sunshine with her!

Bryndel loved the extra snuggles, while Hadley & Piper had a hoot taking her out into their fort that Kyle made them, and then sledding!

Thanks for the great day, Auntie Kara!

7 Months

Ready, set, GO!
Her little legs have been working SO hard to propel her forward, but thus far her arms just reach :)  She does have rug burns on her wrist though, from spinning so many circles!
Oh, Hi!
This is her latest 'flirty' smile where she squinches up her eyes at us.

Not able to sit up on her own yet, but is starting to get used to the idea of sitting in her high chair.  She has enjoyed 'tasting' (not much swallowing as of yet) bananas & applesauce but broccoli makes her shudder!
This is one seriously happy 7 month old.  She just oozes love!

Grandma & Grandpa A Visit

We spent a fun filled weekend up North visiting Grandma & Grandpa A! Bryndel got lots of snuggles.

And there are always fun things for Hadley & Piper to play with at Grandma A's daycare, just tip over a couple picnic tables and they are set.

Piper got to read her favorite book, Spoon, to Auntie Kim (as well as Grandma & Grandpa A).
But the very best part, according to Hadley & Piper, was playing with their cousins.

It was a lovely weekend until... Thanksgiving came a bit early.  Or maybe turkey hunting season?  Whatever the case may be, that crazy turkey tried to make a run for it across the highway on our way home!  While it smucked up the truck a bit, we were all safe!  Praise God.  I guess when life gives you a turkey, you make Thanksgiving!

Lil Pirate

Isn't she the cutest lil pirate you've ever seen!  Bryndel's tear ducts have yet to open, so we find her with at least one eye crusted shut every day.  It doesn't bother her in the least, and Uncle Nathan assures us that it should clear up on its own. When her eyes are not crusted shut, she has really really been into books!

Conversations

Just some random conversations at our house recently.

HOBBIES~

Somehow the topic of hobbies came up at dinner the other night.  It was just the 4 of us girls, as Kyle was working late at the office.

Hadley: I know Daddy's favorite hobby is hunting, Mom, but what do you think are mine?
Me: Hmmm, you like to run, play outside, dance, and craft.
Hadley: Yes, I do!
Piper: How bout me, Mom?
Me: You like to run, jump, play with animals, and play kick ball.
Piper: Yah!
Me: What do you guys think my favorite hobbies are?
Hadley: (With excitement in her voice,) Folding laundry!
Piper: Making supper and taking care of Bryndel!  Oh, and sewing!
Me: (Silently trying not to laugh, or snort rather!)  You are right, I do like all of those things, but I think my hobbies might be taking pictures or gardening.
Girls:  Ohhhh.

EASTER~

Piper and I were reading her Bible one afternoon before naps, and had a little discussion about Easter.

Piper:  Mom, Jesus is full of miracles. Kind of like full of beans, but He's full of miracles!
Me:  Soon we'll get to go to Grandma & Grandpa's to celebrate Easter!
Piper: Oh, yah! When do we get to go?
Me: In a couple weeks, we'll go on Good Friday.
Piper: What's Good Friday, Mom?
Me: The day Jesus was hung on the cross.  The day he died for us.
Piper:  (Very seriously) It should be called Bad Friday then, Mom.

TOOTHBRUSHING~

I came upstairs to check on them the other morning, and found Hadley standing on the toothpaste tube to get the last bits onto her toothbrush. She got just a 'little' bit on the floor!  And Piper was at the sink looking very proud...

Piper: I cleaned the sink out for you, Mom! I used my toothbrush to scrub it.

ACK!

Can't wait for Bryndel to join in some day soon.

Loved

Bryndel is loved all the day long (its no wonder the 'baby' of most families tends to think life is about them!).  And I often capture pictures of her big sisters loving on her, but her Daddy does his fair share too.  She loves to cuddle & read with him.
And she has a new favorite way to soothe herself... she has ditched the thumb for her index & middle finger backwards!  I think it has something to do with the fact that she now prefers to roll onto her tummy to sleep, and those fingers slide more easily into her mouth?  Whatever the case, it is cute & kind of special as I sucked my index finger backwards too!

Weekend Friends

The girls had a blast playing with the Pearson Boys over the weekend. While they may have started out cautiously getting to know one another, they were rough housing with them by the end!
Hadley & Logan drawing together.
As you can see, Kyle happily joined the wrestling as well.
