Piper's Weekend

I think its safe to say that Piper had a pretty special birthday weekend.  It started out with a little basketball in her pajamas (Kyle & I had a hoot trying to put up that hoop in the dark the night before to surprise her!).

Later that morning, she got some pretty special birthday wishes from her buddies at the park!

After a lunch date with Daddy, she wrapped up her birthday that evening with a little cake & ice cream.

The next morning, we zipped up North to give Piper's birthday buddy, Auntie Kim, a quick hug before she headed off to work.

And then we spent time getting a tour of the Anderson Farm thanks to Hayden, Sydney, and Ava.
Flashback 6 years ago, before Piper was even born, and here are Hadley & Ava enjoying the farm then too!
Sydney & Ava were kind enough to share their horses with Hadley & Piper as well!

That evening, Kraig & Anne and family along with Kara and Grandma & Grandpa A, all ventured into Duluth for a little Alpine sliding.  It was a hit!
And for me personally, it was a whole lot more fun going down with a squealing Piper, than when I went down 20+ years ago (at age 13) and nearly ran into a black bear that had climbed onto my track less than 5 feet in front of me!!

Sunday morning dawned bright and sunny, and we ventured off to find wild blueberries!  Hadley & Piper especially enjoyed wandering off and picking with Uncle Frank :)
And Miss Bryndel just ate, and ate, and ate her way through the bushes! Stopping only to smile or chat with Auntie Kara.

Spoiled little thing - she's holding part of a blueberries bush that Uncle Frank pulled right out the ground for her, hehe.  That way she could keep eating even as we walked back to the truck!

Hadley was adamant that we NOT leave town without seeing Uncle Frank's cows.

We wrapped up Piper's birthday weekend the same way it began - with some basketball.  This time with Uncle Nate, who somehow managed to help (a pretty discouraged little girl, I might add) get not one but her first FOUR hoops!  Thanks, Uncle Nate!
