Piper looks a little bit different these days. Maybe it's because she often chooses her contacts instead of her blue glasses. Or maybe it's because she's a third grader. But, most likely it's because she no longer has those familiar blond braids hanging over her shoulders. Braids she's been wearing since the summer she turned four. Braids that felt so good to her, that she'd requested them pretty much every day for the last five years. Shortly after she turned nine last month, Piper donated 10 inches of her curls. Her idea. She wanted to do it in honor of both her grandpas going to heaven this past year. This girl is beautiful inside and out. She got an official thank you from the donation site this week, and it made both of us smile when we found it in the mailbox. What do you do when your daughter wants to donate her hair? You join her :)
