Easter 2016

We were blessed with an Easter in MN this year.  And, it was so much fun!  

Grandma and Grandpa made fast work of the Easter preparations, as they returned from FL just 4 days before!  I think its safe to say they were happy to have all the commotion :)

The kids were blessed with an evening of time spent with their Great-Grandparents too!

A good old fashioned egg hunt occured on Saturday morning (before the rain).

They were all delighted by the simple treasure of finding eggs with their buddies.

And the cutest Grandma ever, hanging up her specially made T-shirts for each grandchild.  One side with their birth order number on them, and one side sporting their name.  And, also color coded by family, of course!

Saturday afternoon we were treated to ice cream at Joe & Nancy's new ice cream shop! It was a hit to say the least!
 
We had a lovely morning in town at Grandma & Grandpa's church, but ended up heading home early with a bucket in Hadley's lap.  Thankfully, she is already on the mend today! 

Spring Break Week

We have had a fun and adventurous week of spring break!

First thing on the agenda, was getting me out to appreciate that teepee! He really is Fun Dad!

Just us girls spent the day at an indoor climbing park in the Twin Cities on Monday.

And we got lucky and caught Grandma & Grandpa for lunch on their way back in from FL!

We goofed around a little bit more before heading home.

We spent another morning hiking around together.

Hadley & Kyle were a bit more brave in their hiking...












The girls and I took in a matinee while eating a lot of popcorn.

Much to their delight, Hadley & Piper learned to climb the pine tree in our backyard.

We spent a creative morning at the children's museum with Cyndy, followed by a pizza lunch.

While watching the snow pile up outside, they threw a play-doh birthday party for some lucky stuffed animals.

And last but not least, we played in the 10 inches of snow!! What? Over spring break? Got to love Wisconsin!

Now we get to concentrate on celebrating Easter! 

When Mom Is Away...

When Mom is away, visiting Grandma & Grandpa in Florida, "Fun Dad" to the rescue!  Kyle set out with the girls last weekend to create something at our land.  They decided on a teepee, and played Native American Indians ALL weekend long!

This might be one of my favorite pictures of all time! I want to cry with laughter every time I look at it!   Yes, those are homemade bows. Yes, Piper has a handmade headdress complete with feathers (above).  And yes, they had the MOST fun our land has seen, yet.  I love that Fun Dad.

 

Retired!

I was blessed with a a little trip down south to visit Mom & Dad on their first official trip as retirees! The sun, the fresh air, and the relaxation were wonderful. But, nothing compared to the time spent with just them. No one else, just me and them. Absolutely priceless.

And these are not your average retirees! I was pretty much strapped to that yellow bike the whole time I was there, sometimes having to jump on in my dress just to keep up with them (hehe!). Kidding aside, not only are they enjoying retirement, they are enjoying each other. No greater blessing in my eyes.

Dells 2016

We tried out the Wilderness Resort for our WI Dells waterpark adventure this year. It was a great family weekend!

I think it's safe to say they had an enjoyable time! And while Bryndel was not quite brave enough for the slides yet, she did float around the lazy river with me for an hour & a half on our last morning, ha!
